In Brief

Ocean economist Andrés de Loera, the newest FSE fellow, studies how nations share, manage, conserve, and compete for resources such as fish, minerals, and endangered marine mammals.

Andrés de Loera’s interest in ocean resource management has taken him from a lobster boat in Maine (above) to a fishing vessel in Indonesia and now to the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability, where he is an assistant professor of oceans and leads the Ocean Policy Lab.
