Bio

Matt Higgins is a Research Assistant with the Center on Food Security and the Environment.  He received his BS in Biology and his MS in Environmental Engineering and Sciences from Stanford University in 2015. He is interested in researching how agricultural systems can improve the welfare of the world's poorest while retaining sound natural resource management strategies. Matt has spent the last two years researching biofuels and the role energy markets play in tropical oilseed development and previously has researched aquaculture, crop biotechnology, and high-tech urban agricultural systems.
