FishMap is in an interactive mapping and graphing tool built upon data from both the UN’s FishStat and comtrade databases. For the general public, it provides a more streamlined, yet still fairly comprehensive, way of picturing global fishery and aquaculture resources (where they are found, where they go, for what purpose, by whom). For researchers, it speeds the process of quickly comparing fishery and aquaculture production datasets on a by species and/or by nation basis - and perhaps in the process assist in revealing insights that may have been missed during a purely text based database search.

FishMap is still in development, please email comments/bugs/suggestions to Chris at raulfoo@stanford.edu. Currently, for best results you will need to view the application using Chrome or Safari.
