Biography
Andrew Wilson is a Postdoctoral Research Scholar at FSE. His research uses tools from social science and Earth science to answer questions related to our management of the global commons. His current projects explore the health effects of transnational air pollution and wildfire, how weather impacts mortality, exposure to toxins from landfilled waste, railway adaptation to climate change, and the response of fish populations to ocean deoxygenation and acidification. Andrew is from San Diego, and earned a BA and MPP at UC Berkeley and a PhD in Sustainable Development at Columbia University. Previously, he has worked at Habitat for Humanity, USAID, and NextGen Policy on housing, global development, and energy policy, and was a staff economist at the White House Council of Economic Advisers. In 2025, Andrew will join the University of Virginia as an Assistant Professor of Public Policy and Economics.
